Spintime???
Cody on Sunday, August 5, 2007 a 2:12 pm [EDIT]
Does anyone have any opinions on the future of Spintime webpage (e-mail accounts won't be changed)?

Options I'm thinking about:
1) Leave it as is.
2) Install a more comprehensive blog package, which would let those of you with an LJ, Google Homepage, or other RSS viewer follow the conversation without actually visiting this webpage. Old entries could probably be imported.
3) Archive the entries some place, and shut the site down. In a lot of ways I think its function has been relegated by Facebook and myspace.

How many of you actually check this site?

Also, I've changed my aim screen name to 'cody@codybaker.org'.

Current temperature in San Jose, Costa Rica: 81 F

"Despite being on the same side of the equator as the United States the Costa Rica people differentiate between summer and winter as if they were in South America. They refer to December through April as the summer because of the clear skies and warm temperatures while the time from May through October is called winter since the rain and wind bring lower temperatures and dampness at higher elevations."

Fraggle Rock's been out forever.. I got it for my sister last Christmas, I believe, so we could probably snag that for a shindig.

Also, I won't be around for a solstice party (which, by the way is the name of one of the kids that lives downstairs from me... Solstice, not party...) but I'll be in town the 23rd through the 26th.

Someone needs to get this so we can have a Fraggle Rock Shindig!!

Also, anyone want to do something on the 21st? Come on everybody, I know ya'll wanna celebrate the solstice, and other than christmas eve that's my only evening off this week. (Yay service jobs!)

so... what pointy terrain are you driving on, or where are you buying these shitty tires?

I'm livid...

Worst customer service I've ever received anywhere...

Don't go to Terry's Tire Town in Massillon on Lake St. I was talked down to and humiliated by their staff today, because I came in with a ripped up tire. This is the fifth or sixth time this year that I've had a flat tire. Everytime it's been too ripped up to fix and needed replaced, and the guy yelled at me because I shouldn't have been driving on it when it was flat. I had had another flat tire only two weeks before, and then three months before that, and three months before that, all the way to just before christmas last year. I shouldn't have to check my tires every day (which I do) to see if they've gone flat, and when they do go flat, I get off of them as soon as I can. This man was a complete asshole, and I know that if I had gone with my dad (who's gone with me every time before) I would not have been treated in such a foul manner.

I'm livid...

The Finnish Educational System...
Matt Gerlach on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 a 3:02 pm [EDIT]
Finnish Schools:

It?s a few minutes past eight. The dusk of the October morning has not yet given way to daylight, when the pupils of the Str?mberg Lower Comprehensive School (age 7-13 years) start taking off their coats, caps and shoes in front of the coat-rack reserved for each group. An inviting, warm fire lit by caretaker Keijo H?m?l?inen to cheer up the pupils is burning in the fireplace in the hall. Hellos and hi?s are being shouted along the corridors as pupils, teachers and the rest of the school staff greet each other.

When I first read this I was like, "Oh... isn't that nice," then I thought, "WAIT!! FIRE?! In a SCHOOL?! With CHILDREN?!" How long do you think it would take an American schoolchild to throw one of their class mates into the fire, just to see what would happen? I'd say, maybe five minutes, ten if there were teachers around.

And Grr to Cody for fonts that hate umlauts, or is it just my browser?

On the flip side

Having classes until TEN AT NIGHT is no picnic either.

Also, then imagine having only two classes that, between the two of them, last five and a half hours straight.

Next semester, I have only one class, but it is four hours long.

GRAD SCHOOL IS BAD KILL ME PLZ

Updates, ya'll
Matt Gerlach on Saturday, November 11, 2006 a 2:14 pm [EDIT]
So what's everyone doing for Thanksgiving? All ya'll should shindig when/if in town. I'm glad school is getting done this semester... never schedule a class before noon, trust me, it's not worth it...
